Meet Ali's Team

Stephen Parr
Chief of Staff
I was born and raised in Mildura and attended Mildura West Primary School, Chaffey Secondary College and Mildura Senior College. In 2000 I moved to Adelaide to study a Bachelor of International Studies with Majors in Politics and Asian Studies.

After a gap year back in Mildura, I moved to Melbourne in 2004 to undertake a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) at Monash University with a major in Asian Studies. I graduated from Monash in 2005. In 2006 I successfully applied to participate in the Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing Graduate Development Program, which I completed in 2006 and continued to work for the Department in Canberra until mid-2008 when I returned to Mildura, attracted by the prospect of using my health system knowledge from the Department at the local level. This saw me working in senior management roles within Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations in Mildura, Robinvale and Dareton, and win local health service planning and contracting at the Lower Murray Medicare Local.

In 2015 I commenced a Graduate Certificate in Public Health (Primary Care), Flinders University and Graduated in 2016.

My typical day at work is varied but often involves assisting Ali in writing press releases and speeches for Parliament, research as well as attending meetings on her behalf on occasions she cannot be present.
Genevieve Danenberg
Electorate Office Operations Manager
I was raised in Mildura and attended Sacred Heart Primary School, Trinity Lutheran College and St Joseph’s College Mildura. I studied a Bachelor of Health Sciences (Management) 2011-2014 at Flinders University, Bachelor of Health Sciences (Honours) Women's Body Image 2015 Bachelor of Business (Advanced Leadership and Marketing) 2016-2018.  I moved to Adelaide in 2011 for university, and lived on campus for 4 years. I always knew I wanted to move back to Mildura and I'm very happy to be back.

Ali's hard work and passion for our community and it’s people inspired me to jump on board with her and the broader movement.

My work days usually involve responding to constituent enquiries over phone and email, managing Ali’s busy calendar as well as office budgets and finance.

Outside of work, I play soccer on Sundays at Aero ovals. I like to catch up with friends and family and 27 Deakin is definitely a favourite.

I'm so proud that Ali is the first woman to hold the seat of Mildura.
James Price
Community Engagement Manager
I was born in Mildura and attended St Joseph's College in Mildura where I completed my VCE, and shortly after, relocated to Sydney and Melbourne where I worked for a number of years for Museums Victoria and The Australian Centre for the Moving Image. (ACMI)

Prior to returning to Mildura in 2012, I completed a Bachelor of Human Services and Master of Social Work at La Trobe University in Melbourne. Upon my return to Mildura I was involved in community engagement work with Mildura Rural City Council through the Localities Enhancing Arts Participation (LEAP) project before working for a number of years as a social work case manager assisting victims of violent crime.

In tandem with my work as a social worker, I co-directed Mildura’s first co-working space, UpStart between 2016 and 2019.

Each day but typically each day involves scheduling trips to all corners of the electorate to meet with locals, community groups, councils and other stakeholders. When I am in the office my day consists of heaps of emails, updating Ali’s communication platforms like Facebook and this website and working on projects that make it easier to community members to have their say about issues that matter to their patch of the electorate.
